9 Ways You Can Help BCS

To sustain our important work, we need to expand our community of friends and supporters.  Here are a few quick ways you can help.

1) Share your knowledge

shareShare your special skills, interests and talents.  Join one of our committees and help BCS in marketing, fundraising, programming, investments, government relations, new initiatives, board development or volunteer services and much more. You may want to join our Business Advisory Council, composed of businesspeople who hire our clients and promote job training and placement for adults with disabilities.

2) Spread the Word

Help open doors for BCS in the community. Or, consider becoming a BCS Volunteer Ambassador. Invite your friends to a future BCS 360.  Host a gathering of your friends or associates—we'll bring BCS 360 to you!

4) BCS FunWalk 2011 is now open for registration!


The BCS FunWalk is our yearly one-mile walk-a-thon fundraiser and friend-raiser event. This year the FunWalk is September 25, 1-3pm in Prospect Park. Registration is only $10 and includes a BCS T-Shirt!

5)  Volunteer

If you have a special skill, interest or talent, please let us know how we might create a unique volunteer opportunity for you. Please fill out our online volunteer application and you will be contacted by the Director of Volunteer Services shortly.

6) Use GoodSearch & GoodShop to support BCS!

BCS earns money when you use GoodSearch to search the web and GoodShop to shop online.  Participating stores include Amazon, eBay, Target, Apple, Staples and so much more! A percentage of your purchase with be donated for free! Support BCS now on GoodShop! 

7) Support BCS via eBay!

ebayBCS is now listed on eBay Giving Works! Please choose Brooklyn Community Services as your designated charity when selling or buying an item on eBay.  10%-100% of the proceeds from your purchase will support Brooklyn!

8) Help Find an Internship for a High School Student

If you know of any local businesses looking for interns, please spread the word about the students in our high school and Adolescent Education and Employment Program

9) Make a Business Connection

If you know businesses needing subcontract assembly and packaging services, please introduce them to our BKLYN UNLTD workshop program. If you know employers who might benefit from hiring skilled, trained workers with disabilities, please think of BCS—we need more trainee placement opportunities.
