Last year, Brooklyn Dogs Helped BCS FunWalk Raise $23,000 for
Children's, Families and Adults with Disabilities

Ten Brooklyn dogs and their owners joined more than 125 staff members, Board members, clients and volunteers of Brooklyn Community Services recently for our 7th Annual FunWalk in Prospect Park and helped raise $23,000 in support of BCS' programs including child care, after-school education, family counseling, job training, and mental heath and wellness.

The FunWalk is BCS' annual 1.5-mile walk/run in the park and mix-and-mingle event that helps BCS raise much-needed funds for BCS to fulfill its mission to build a better Brooklyn by strengthening families, helping children and youth reach their full potential, and supporting adults in leading productive, fulfilling lives.

This year, BCS launched "The Most Philanthropic Dog in Brooklyn" contest to register dogs and their owners in the FunWalk since Brooklyn is a city of dog lovers. The dog (and its owners) who raised the most funds for FunWalk received a photography session with Brooklyn Beasts Photography!

Philanthropist Lorraine DiPaolo was the largest individual fundraiser for FunWalk and Coda (and his owner Dawit Petros) was winner of "The Most Philanthropic Dog in Brooklyn" contest.

A contest was also held on the BCS Facebook page for "Brooklyn's Most LIKEable Dog!"  The pup with the most "LIKEs" received a doggie day trip from Prospect Bark.  Check out the adorable photos here!
