
Susan R. McGurk, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Dartmouth Medical School. She is a neuropsychologist whose research has focused on the area of cognitive deficits, vocational services, and employment in severe mental illness. Results of these studies laid the ground work for her research in the development and evaluation of the Thinking Skills for Work Program, which integrates cognitive remediation and supported employment. Dr. McGurk was the recipient of a National Alliance of Research in Schizophrenia and Depression (NARSAD) Young Investigator Award, and the 2004 Rehabilitaion Practitioner of Distinction Award by the National Rehabilitation Association, Metropolitan New York Chapter for her work linking cognition and employment in community-based vocational agencies in the greater New York City areas. She has also received numerous research grants to support her research from the New York Offices of Mental Health, the National Institute of Mental Health, and the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research.
