For 12 years, Laci has built Fit4Dance into a multigenerational community hub. Now, thanks to the Community Energy Project (a partnership with CitizensNYC and National Grid), Fit4Dance is expanding to help neighbors access resources on energy affordability and efficiency too.

Her advice to anyone waiting for the "right time" to start a business? "Start before everything feels perfect, because it probably never will."

Residents from our Red Hook facility spent the day out on the water, making some big catches and even bigger memories.

What a great way to enjoy a summer afternoon.

On Friday, August 14, Prospect Plaza Community Center took over Brownsville with a Back-to-School extravaganza. The center is home to our Fatherhood and Youth Stand United programs, but everyone in the community got a chance to join the fun!

Families lined up to grab a bag of fresh, free groceries from our Food for Families distribution, along with new book bags, school supplies, and everything their kids needed for day one.

The sweet touch? Flower Friday was in full effect as we passed out flowers to everyone in attendance. Thank you to everyone who came through and made the day what it was.

SATURDAY IN THE SAND! 🏖️

We had an incredible time this past Saturday at the 34th Annual Coney Island Sandsculpting Competition!

Participants from Brooklyn and beyond joined us on the beach sculpting some of the most incredible art. In addition, hundreds gathered to watch, cheer on, and vote on final sculptures!

Finding a safe, enriching summer experience for children can be hard for some families, which is why we are excited to offer programs through our Education and Youth Development Division that host incredible summer camps young Brooklynites actually want to attend!

Take a look at P.S. 156! Camp counselors hosted a door-decorating competition, where each class had the chance to decorate a deep-ocean-inspired art installation.
